ＳＮＳ等におきまして、東京大学大学院情報学環・学際情報学府（以下、学環・学府）の特定短時間勤務有期雇用教職員（特任准教授）による、特定個人及び特定の国やその国の人々に関する不適切な書き込みが複数なされました。

これらの書き込みは、当該教員個人または兼務先組織に関するものであり、学環・学府の活動とは一切関係がありません。

東京大学憲章では、「東京大学は、構成員の多様性が本質的に重要な意味をもつことを認識し、すべての構成員が国籍、性別、年齢、言語、宗教、政治上その他の意見、出身、財産、門地その他の地位、婚姻上の地位、家庭における地位、障害、疾患、経歴等の事由によって差別されることのないことを保障し、広く大学の活動に参画する機会をもつことができるように努める」と言明しております。

学環・学府は、この理念に則り、国籍はもとより、あらゆる形態の差別や不寛容を許さず、すべての人に開かれた組織であることを保障いたします。学環・学府構成員から、こうした書き込みがなされたことをたいへん遺憾に思い、またそれにより不快に感じられた皆様に深くお詫び申し上げます。

Inappropriate writings were recently made on social media by a part-time project faculty (Project Associate Professor) in the Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies and Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies at the University of Tokyo (hereinafter, this is called, “III/GSII”) regarding specific individuals, specific country, and people in that country.

These writings relate to the individual or the organization where the individual is concurrently working, and have nothing to do with the activities of III/GSII.

The University of Tokyo Charter states that “The University of Tokyo in recognizing the importance of having diversity in its constituent members shall guarantee no discrimination based on nationality, gender, age, language, religion, political or other reasons, origin, property, lineage, marital status, position within the household, handicaps, ailments, career, etc., and shall strive to ensure that all its members shall have the opportunity to participate widely in university activities.”

In accordance with this philosophy, we guarantee that III/GSII is open to people of all nationalities, and does not tolerate any form of discrimination or intolerance. I am very sorry that an III/GSII faculty member made these writings, and I would like to sincerely apologize to all those who have been made to feel uncomfortable as a consequence.
